Remembering Crickett

Almost five years ago, this month, I lost my dear friend, Crickett, to breast cancer. She was only 39 years old. She was so full of life and love! Her presence was felt the moment she walked into a room. She had the ability to make everyone around her smile and feel special. She had such a zest for life and for helping anyone in need. It's difficult for me too sum up her personality and who she was into this post, because she was just that wonderful!

Needless to say, when Crickett succumbed to her disease, it was a huge loss for her family and friends. Her memory lives on through the nonprofit organization Crickett's Answer for Cancer. The nonprofit was started by her mother and cousin in an effort to provide support for women with breast cancer. They provide wigs, mastectomy and lymphedema products, massage, facials and other pampering services, as a way to help women feel feminine and beautiful despite losing their hair and/or breasts.

Through the first week of November, I will donate $1 from each sale in my Etsy shop Calladoo Paper Craft. You can also donate directly to Crickett's Answer for Cancer by clicking here.

Thank you and please remember to perform a monthly self breast exam.

Casey
